Here’s the download link. Oddly, it doesn’t seem to work in FireFox, only Internet Explorer..

Haven’t installed yet, and I wish it wasn’t windows only.

Installed it today, and it doesn’t support my video capture card. So, I uninstalled it. Too bad….
Tired of the tabs in FireFox being at the top? There is a Fire Fox add in called “tree style tabs” which puts the tabs on the side instead. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5890

Installed this last night on my ubuntu install, and I’m going to add it to my “must have” Firefox add ons… Just to clarify, it sort of looks like your favorites list on the left in Internet Explorer…

I installed this on my laptop today, and I have to tell you I am impressed. It seems like a simple concept, and I’ve tried doing it with “real” folders, but never quite got what I want.
These “fences” look like open folders (sort of) and it organizes the icons inside the fence. I have been using it for about 3 weeks on one of the computers I use, and I am VERY happy with it…. From their website:
Fences is a one-of-a-kind program, allowing you to draw labeled shaded areas on your desktop, which become movable & resizable containers for your desktop icons. These groups can help bring organization and consistency to your computer’s desktop, solving the “constant mess” problem that has plagued the desktop since its inception.
More problems with ubuntu (could be nvidia driver). Downloaded centos, says it tries to be binary compatible with redhat – I HOPE so.

Installed CENTOS, but not GRUB (it was already installed and working!!). So, then I copied the x windows config file to my ubuntu partition and it worked!

I know someone who used to use Kid Pix A LOT and misses it. I just listened to a podcast (http://twit.tv/floss59 and http://wiki.twit.tv/wiki/FLOSS_Weekly_59) about http://www.tuxpaint.org and was surpized it runs on windows.

I am currently working on setting up my computer as a multiboot system, and for unrelated reasons, I had to reinstall my Windows Vista partition. My Sound Blaster Live isn’t supported under Vista. It used to work, but my guess is that it’s because I did an upgrade install. A clean install gave me a sound card that wouldn’t work. So, I went to ebay, and bought a cheap sound card from Sim Wai uzlab dot 2008 at yahoo dot com dot hk for under $8.00 – including shipping!! Not only does this have Vista drivers available, but XP, NT, 2000, and Linux! It came today, I took out the old card, install this one, and booted to each operating system. Vista and Server 2003, I had to install drivers. Ubuntu already had the drivers for it (in the kernel?) so all I had to do was select it. I haven’t yet booted to puppy linux, but I am guessing it will also have no issue. Worth every cent, and why can’t someone like Creative Labs update their drivers??

Forgot to mention, it sounds just as good or better than my old sound card. (not that I have perfect hearing….)

Found yet another issue… And this is unconfirmed, but seems like something changes when I boot to Vista… If I boot to Vista, then reboot to Ubunutu, the NVidia driver won’t load?? Anyway, when I get home, I will boot to puppy linux, and copy that /etc/X11/*.config file to my Ubuntu partition…
I just installed Ubuntu on a 2 gig usb drive… 300 meg of updates – not all of which finished, because of space. Boot seen as CDROM?
