Courion Tip – Custom Connectors

Courion as far as I know doesn’t say this, but…. When setting up a new server, I imported everything I could from the old server. Well, no luck and I wound up going into the configuration editor and deleting a bunch of stuff. Not a task for the weak of heart. Finally, I realized why. You should ALWAYS set up your custom connectors BEFORE you import the *.xml for the targets that use those connectors. If I were writing it, it wouldn’t matter, but…

Symptoms – the custom connectors don’t show up in your connector configuration manager – even after you add them. I think in one case, I saw the connector, but couldn’t add a target to it.
